Assembly Election Results Live on YuppTV

YuppTV bring you the latest in this section of assembly elections live updates. The five states that voted in this session of the assembly elections are Goa, Punjab, Manipur, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. The assembly elections commenced on the 4th of Feb and will continue till tomorrow 8th of March. The counting for the results will be held on 11th March.


Goa recorded an 83% voter turnout on Feb 4. Other than a few cases of glitches in the EVM machines and cancellation of voting in one booth, the election went on peacefully. Punjab recorded about 70% voter turnout on Feb 4, intermixed with stray cases of EVM glitches and violence. Punjab is witnessing a crucial contest with AAP trying to gain a foothold as a new entrant against Congress and SAD-BJP. Punjab being a volatile state, this will be an interesting race to watch. The first phase of polling for the assembly elections in North East state Manipur ended on Mar 4, with 84.8% voter turnout. These figures are estimated to go up further after the remaining 28% polling stations of rural areas share the results. This assembly elections will be an acid test for the congress government that has been in power for the past 15 years headed by Okram Ibobi Singh. Second phase is to be held on March 08 with a major concern over the economy blockade created by the United Naga Council which BJP announced to rectify within 4 months.

Uttarakhand the hilly state recorded 68% voter turnout for the Uttarakhand assembly elections held on 15 Feb. Due to the unexpected death of Kuldeep Singh Kanwasi, a BSP candidate, the polling for Karnaprayag constituency has been postponed to March 9. This state is witnessing a direct contest between the ruling BJP and the Opposition Congress.

Uttar Pradesh the largest state in India is the core of politics. A voter turnout of 57.03% was witnessed in the 6thphase of the UP assembly elections. This charged up state will witness the final polling in the 7th phase of the assembly elections that will be held in the state in its South East corner, including Varanasi, Juanpur and Sonbhadra. PM Narendra Modi wrapped up his campaign with a plea for voters to eliminate the SP-congress combine, headed by Akhilesh Yadav.
