Azhagiya Tamil Magal is a Tamil television serial broadcast on Zee Tamil which has started very recently in August 2017. This is the remake of a Telugu television show named Mutyala Muggu which airs on Zee Telugu. The serial is first of its kind which is themed on Sports in Tamil. The show is written by P Mari Muthu and directed by KT Sunil. It casts Sheela Rajkumar, Puvi Arasu, Subalakshmi Rangan in the lead roles. Artists like Anju Aravind, Sakshi Siva, Shari, Ranjani, Kannan, Manju Bhargavi share the additional roles.
The serial portrays the story of a young girl named Poongkodi, who is a kabaddi player but also loves Bharatanatyam. Her dreams of playing professionally and pursuing her studies are hindered by her mother. She receives the necessary support from her Teacher and her grandfather with which she makes it to Chennai to pursue higher education. She lands herself in a love triangle with a guy and her rival who is also her half-sister.
