ICC Women’s T20 World Cup to Begin from 21st February - Watch Live on YuppTV

Not long ago have we witnessed the most exciting and dramatic Men’s and Under 19 World Cup in which brought forth some historic victories for England and Bangladesh. While many of the Men’s teams have been playing T20I series back to back in the preparation of World Cup T20 that will is scheduled in October 2020, Women teams have been preparing for their own T20I World Cup that is going to begin on 21st February.

ICC 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup is the seventh edition of Women’s World Cup and is going to be held in Australia. 10 Teams will be contesting in the tournament of which top 8 teams were qualified directly due to their performances in the 2018 Women’s World Cup T20I and the remaining teams were qualified after World Cup Qualifier tournament. The teams that directly qualified for the World Cup are Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and West Indies. Bangladesh and Thailand are the two teams that qualified after finishing first and second in the 2019 World Cup Qualifier Tournament.

The teams are divided into two groups, Group A and Group B. Group A comprises of Australia, India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Group B comprises of England, South Africa, West Indies, Pakistan, and Thailand. Thailand has qualified for the World Cup tournament for the very first time. A total of 23 matches will be played among the teams. The Group Matches will be played from 21st February to 3rd March. Both the Semi Finals are scheduled on 5th March and the final is scheduled on 8th March 2020.

All the World Cup matches are organized in six venues across Australia, namely Manuka Oval, Canberra, Junction Oval and Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, WACA Ground in Perth, and Sydney Showground Stadium and Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. The Group stage matches will take place in Manuka Oval, Junction Oval, WACA Ground, and Sydney Showground Stadium whereas the Semi Finals are scheduled in Sydney Cricket Ground and the Finals in Melbourne Cricket Ground.
