Get ready to celebrate cricket in all its glory! The second half of the worlds biggest T20 tournament is all set to rock and roll from September 19 in the UAE. The second phase of IPL 2021 will resume with a clash between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians in Dubai. The three-time title winner, Chennai Super Kings, had a fabulous first half and remained second on the leaderboard. Mumbai Indians, the defending champion, are at number four on the points table. While Chennai won five of seven games, Mumbai registered four wins in their seven matches. The battle between the top two teams is an excellent start to mark the resumption of the tournament.

After the fifth and final test match against England was called off in Manchester, Indian players joined franchises. Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Chateshwar Pujara and Shardul Thakur, part of the Indian test squad have arrived in the UAE on Saturday. As a mandatory regulation by the BCCI, these players will undergo a six-day quarantine before joining their teams.

Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians came out victorious against Chennai last time when both teams locked horns. Mumbai chased a massive target of 218 when Kieron Pollard(87 off 34 balls) unleashed his beast mode. Batting first, the Men in Yellow managed to put up a high target with a brilliant performance by Faf Du Plessis(50 off 28), Moeen Ali(58 off 36) and Ambati Rayudu(72 off 27). With a perfect blend of hard hitters and all-rounders, Mumbai dominance was visible in this high-intensity match. While Mumbai certainly looks to continue their prominence as they face Chennai in the first match of the UAE leg, Chennai will go the extra mile to settle the score.
