Indian
Cricket Team has been cruising on victories in the recent months. The series
against South Africa and the one against Bangladesh have been a testament to
these. India Cricket team’s dominated reign until the semifinal of the World
Cup can also be stated as their dedication to the sport. The team currently
ranks First in the ICC Test Rankings, Second in ODI Rankings and Fifth in T20I
rankings.
Indian Cricket team’s previous stint was a
3 T20, 2 Test series against Bangladesh in November. The team stood victorious
in 2 T20s and the 2 Test matches winning the series. Prior to that, the team
crushed South Africa in the 3 T20, 3 Test series in October. Being one of the
most successful teams in the recent past, the Indian team is in the best shape
it can be.
The team currently has Virat Kohli as
Captain for both formats, Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Kedar
Jadhav, Shivam Dubey, Ravindra Jadeja, Lokesh Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Sanju
Samson, Shikhar Dhawan, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar,
Mohammad Shami, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
West Indies team recently played a
bilateral series against Afghanistan where it had stood victorious in 3 out of
3 ODIs, 1 out of 3 T20s and the only test. The team would be looking to regain
their lost honor in the T20s by putting forward their best game against India.
Though facing India is a difficult task in ODIs, the team might perform better
against India given the confidence boost due to its victory against
Afghanistan.
The West Indies T20 and ODI teams are being
led by Kieron Pollard with players like Shimron Hetmeyer, Brandon King, Evil
Lewis, Roston Chase, Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Keemo Paul, Nicholas Pooran,
Alzzari Joseph, Sheldon Cottrell, Fabian Allen, Sherfance Rutherford, etc. This
is Kieron Pollard’s second series as Captain and a first against India.
