It seemed impossible to chase the target, but the Punjab Kings achieved it effortlessly with sheer domination and chased it down with 8 balls to spare. Johnny Bairstow, who struggled in the first half of the Tata IPL 2024, staged a magnificent comeback and guided his team to create history by chasing a record-breaking total. In a complete display of power and determination, the PBKS opener, alongside Prabhsimran Singh and Shashank Singh, went all out attack and scripted a carnage. Chasing a massive 261, Prabhsimran Singh got off to a good start and set the stage for this chase. His 54 in just 20 balls, with five sixes and four boundaries, ensured PBKS was on the right track. At a time when he was looking unstoppable, a brilliant run out by Sunil Naraine brought an end to his fiery innings. Rilie Rossouw decided to take risks in a big chase and played a flawless cameo before he got out early. Shashank Singh, the perfect find for PBKS this season, joined Johnny Bairstow and ensured he was part of this breathtaking record. All four players combined smashed 24 sixes and entertained the fans.

Batting first, KKR destroyed PBKS's bowling lineup and posted a gigantic 261. Phil Salt (75) and Sunil Naraine (71) did what they were best at and laid the foundation. Both openers rattled the bowlers with boundaries across the ground. Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, and Andre Russell took the scoreboard ticking with back-to-back boundaries.

Punjab repeated what RCB did to SRH the other day. Languishing at the bottom, both teams surprised their tabletopper batting-heavy opponents on their home turf. However, SRH and KKR remained the same on the leaderboard. With this win, Punjab jumps to the eighth position. Enjoy watching Tata IPL on YuppTV and make moments memorable.
