Celebrate Makar Sankranti / Pongal Festival with Blockbuster Movies on YuppTV

One of the most celebrated festivals in India, Sankranti is close. Amidst the many kites, snacks, and the controversial sporting events like Cockfighting in Andhra Pradesh, Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu, Television Entertainment is one of the most important features of Sankranti. Many movies from the top heroes from the Southern Industries will be released in and around Sankranti. In 2020, Rajinikanth’s Darbar, Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Nekevvaru, Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikuntapuramlo, etc., come under this list. 

Apart from the films that are released in the theatres, the television channels flood the audience with all the recent releases. Many great movies that have been released recently and gained popularity among the audience are going to be aired by the television channels on the day of the festival. Since the festival is celebrated for three days (Bhogi, Sankranti, and Kanuma), all the three days will be filled with the best of Movies and special shows.

Bigil on SunTV

Bigil is a Tamil blockbuster film directed by Atlee and starring Vijay, Nayanathara, and Jackie Shroff in the lead roles. Bigil depicts the story of the son of a gangster who decides to coach a Women’s Football team. Released on 25th October 2019, the film emerged as the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2019. This film is going to be aired on Sun TV on January 15th at 6:30 PM IST.

Asuran on Star Vijay

Dhanush’s latest Blockbuster hit Asuran directed by Vetrimaaran also stars Manju Warrier in the lead role. The critically acclaimed film that is set in the 1980s depicts the story of a farmer on the run, saving his child from a murdering wealthy man. The film was released on 4th October 2019 and it is being aired on 15th January at 11 AM IST on Star Vijay.

Kaithi on Star Vijay

Another latest film starring Karthi, Narain, and Dheena and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film is an action thriller that won great critical reception and was loved by the audience. Kaithi was released on 25th October 2019. It is now being aired on Star Vijay on 16th Jan at 11 AM IST.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy on Gemini TV

Tollywood’s most awaited Epic Action film was directed by Surender Reddy, casts Nayanathara, Tamannaah, Sudeep, Jagapathi Babu, Vijay Sethupathi, Amitabh Bachchan and Anushka Shetty alongside Chiranjeevi.  Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy depicts the story of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy who fought for India’s Independence during the British Rule. This is one of the most iconic roles for the star and is one of the biggest hits in the industry. The film is now being aired on Gemini TV on 15th January at 6 PM IST.
 

Apart from these, plenty of latest movies like Vishal and Tamannaah’s Action, Sivakarthikeyan, Anu Emmanuel, and Aishwarya Rajesh starrer Namma Veettu Pillai, Vijay Sethupathi’s Sangathamizhan, are also being aired on these channels.

Not so much of a hit but Kalank is known for its Glamor and Grandeur. The film is a Romantic Drama starring Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Aditya Roy Kapoor. It is directed by Abhishek Varman. Kolaigaran

Starring Vijay Anthony, Arjun Sarja, and Ashima Narwal in the lead roles, Kolaigaran is a Blockbuster Crime Drama that was aired on Star Vijay. Maharshi

Starring Mahesh Babu and Pooja Hegde, Maharshi is a blockbuster Telugu film directed by Vamsi Paidipally. The film was a recent release (May 2019) and was a blockbuster. This film was aired on Gemini TV on 6th October.

Oh Baby

Starring Samantha and Naga Shaurya in the lead roles, Oh Baby is a fantasy comedy released in July 2019. The film was a super hit with Samantha earning massive appreciation for her acting abilities. It was a remake of a Korean film “Miss Granny”. "Oh Baby" was aired on Star Maa on 6th October 2019 and is still available on YuppTV Catchup.

Thanneer Mathan Dinangal

Starring Vineeth Sreenivasan, Mathew Thomas, and Anaswara Rajan, Thanneer MathanDinangal is a coming of age comedy film directed by Girish AD.
