Angrezi Medium was Irrfan Khan’s last film released in March 2020. It was a sequel to one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films “Hindi Medium” released in 2017. The movie is about to be aired for the first time on Television on Star Plus this Saturday. Angrezi Medium features Irrfan Khan in the lead role along with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepak Dobriyal, and Radhika Madan. The film was directed by Homi Adajania who had directed films like Being Cyrus, Cocktail, and Finding Fanny in the past. The film is written by Bhavesh Mandalia, Gaurav Shukla, Vinay Chhawall, and Sara Bodinar. The film’s music is composed by Sachin-Jigar and Tanishk Bagchi.
Angrezi Medium depicts the story of a young girl who dreams of studying abroad and her father who tries to get her a seat. While speaking of the immense pressure parents go through to come up with the huge amount of money that is a prerequisite of studying abroad, the film also sheds a light on all the other emotions that both the kids and parents experience when they drift apart.
Angrezi Medium is one of the few best movies that stays with you for some time after finish watching the movie. As much as the film is filled with hilarious scenes and emotional sequences that wrench your heart, it also speaks to us at a personal level making us aware of something that we have been looking at but failed to observe.
Also, since the film is Irrfan Khan’s last before his demise, it served as a much-needed closure for his fans and admirers that wished to see him one last time. His demise was one of the many Disasters that 2020 has brought down upon humanity. Reputed to be one of the most talented actors in Bollywood, Irrfan Khan was the raw talent that any country’s audience witnesses seldom in their lifetime. Success or not, Angrezi Medium definitely serves as a Tribute to the Talented Actor that stood as an example of hard work and passion in both Hollywood and Bollywood.
