VIVO IPL AUCTION 2021: Gear up for another Great Beginning

The IPL fever starts as soon as the auction is announced and the time has come for the mini-auction of the 2021 IPL. Although there won’t be a mega auction, the excitement is still the same and will be a means to fill the voids in the teams. The mini-auction of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to be held this week on Thursday, February 18, in Chennai, and will run for half a day.

Auction is a crucial time for the franchises because it decides the future of the teams and how it fares in the season. Combinations that were not productive last time will be rectified and the teams will also look to strengthen the squad by adding impactful players to the list. There have been instances where one small change in the squad has changed the game entirely.

Earlier this year, the franchises released the list of retained players after letting go of a few good players to make way for new talent. A total of 139 players have been retained in the teams and 59 have been released. The biggest of the names that were released in the player release list included Glenn Maxwell, Chris Morris, Lasith Malinga, Steve Smith, Harbhajan Singh, Piyush Chawla, Aaron Finch, and many others. They will now look for more weapons to add to their arsenal and go all guns blazing in the IPL.

Fans of the league usually glue themselves to the screens right from the pre-auction show and don’t leave until after the post-auction show. What’s stopping you?
