Watch Tamil Movie Kaatru Veliyidai & its telugu version Cheliyaa On YuppTV Mini Theatre

While Kaatru Veliyidai opens with a scene of conflict between Indian and Pakistani forces, it’s soon clear that a romantic battle between two very different personalities lies at the heart of this movie.

The opening scene sets up the romance with the Pakistani army capturing a heroic pilot Varun or VC (Karthi). From here, the film unfolds its central premise via a series of flashbacks.

Leela(Aditi Rao Hydari), a doctor is introduced while caring for VC after an accident leaves him is badly injured. After VC recovers, he asks Leela out. During their date VC realizes the two are falling madly in love, however, they substantially realize they are very different personalities which ultimately kept them apart.

VC is self-centred and domineering while Leela possesses a sweeter temperament and expects as professionals, an equal relationship. Indeed their very professions bring to life their characters underlying conflict. VC kills in the name of duty while Leela nurtures life and heals. Given these very dynamic tensions, can their relationship really hold out the possibility of a future.

Again back to present day prisoner seeking to escape his prison to return to his true love, the look in his eyes frustration to unable to realize his feelings and express his love for her.

What attracts the viewer's interest in the film is its sheer technical brilliance; lush visuals, a vibrant sound track and convincing stage sets. Mani Ratnam’s effective direction juggles the film’s need to dynamic and fresh while painting back characters with bold and at times eccentric strokes highlighted by the scenes rounding out VC’s family in values.

The romantic storyline plays out along more conventional lines. Both main leads Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari display considerable charm and had work hard to engage the audience. Tamil Expats who are looking for a romantic musical treat , definitely Kaatru Veliyidai is the first pick for them. YuppTV Mini Theatre also features the Telugu version of the movie Cheliyaa.
