The movie which was said to have earned the highest collections for a female-centric role from South Indian in the United States placed Anushka next to Sridevi to have earned more than 1 million at the US Box Office. Starring Anushka Shetty in the lead role, Bhaagamathie is written and directed by G Ashok, who is notable for films like Pilla Zamindar, Aakasa Ramanna, etc. The story of the film revolves around a woman imprisoned in a haunted house who is in the middle of an investigation. Anushka Shetty, who played the role of the trapped IAS officer impressed the audience with her histrionic abilities.
The film received high ratings from the critics and the websites like First Post, Bollywood Life etc. especially for the actress’s performance and the storyline. Adding to the performance of the starlet, Unni Mukundan, Jayaram, and Asha Sharath who bore pivotal roles also performed well.
