A historical Action Drama, Parmanu: The story of Pokhran depicts the story of Indian secret Nuclear tests conducted in Pokhran in 1998. Written by Saiwyn Quadras, Sanyuktha Chawla Sheikh, and Abhishek Sharma, the film is directed by Abhishek Sharma who had previously directed Tere Bin Laden, The Shaukeens, etc. Parmanu casts John Abraham and Diana Penty in the lead roles and Boman Irani and Anuja Sathe in supporting roles.
The film starts off in 1995, an era in which the whole world unitedly opposed the creation of Nuclear Missiles and India has done only one. Neighboring Countries like China has done 43 tests and India is under pressure from China, Pakistan, and the Western Countries to establish its power and abort any trials at Nuclear Devices. The story moves forward to reveal how India created Nuclear Missiles and successfully conducted the trials without the knowledge of the world. The Political, Strategical, and Security challenges that were faced by the persons involved at the time make up for an edge of the seat drama along with providing knowledge of a great thing that has happened because of their bravery.
John Abraham one of the best actors in Bollywood has delivered the performance of his life in this film and so did Boman Irani, Diana Penty, and Anuja Sathe. The songs by Sachin-Jigar and Jeet Ganguli, and music composed by Sandeep Chowta added to the patriotic feel of the film.
