The season 12 of IPL has almost come to an end. Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have stood out to be the strongest of teams. The two teams are going to fight for the trophy in the finals of IPL 12 on 12th of May 2019 in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium of Hyderabad. CSK vs MI Live will start at 07:30 PM IST on Sunday.
Started off with a match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore on 23rd March 2019, IPL 12 has been the most exciting season of IPL. With fantastic teams and some great matches, the season has been one of the most amazing ones. Andre Russell’s match-winning knocks, Dhoni’s patient yet destructive stands, David Warner and Johnny Bairstow’s centuries, Alzarri Joseph’s six-wicket haul, Ashwin’s Mankading, Hardik Pandya’s Rampage, Rishabh Pant’s destruction, and much more were a part of IPL 12.
While eight teams played in the season, Four teams namely Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Sunrisers Bangalore entered the playoffs with CSK, MI, and DC earning 18 points each and SRH with 12 points. Delhi Capitals entered the playoffs for the first time after 2012 and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s entering into playoffs with just 12 points is the first time in the history of IPL.
While the top earners Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings played in Qualifier 1, Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai to enter the finals. The Eliminator match took place between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad where Delhi Capitals won over Sunrisers Hyderabad to enter the Qualifier-2 against Chennai. Chennai crushed Delhi Capitals in the Qualifier-2 to enter the Finals against Mumbai Indians.
This is the 8th time that Chennai Super Kings entering the finals of IPL. And it is the third time that Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are fighting for the trophy in the finals. CSK team entered IPL 2019 as the defending champions and on 12th of May, we will know if they enter the IPL 2020 as Defending Champions again.
