A horror movie fan or
not, the thrill in watching them is not less than an adventure for everyone. Faking
bravado while watching them and then hiding under the sheets at night, having
nightmares about ghosts and vampires, and wishing you had not watched the movie
but still watching another. All of this is an endless cycle and if you are that
pseudo-brave person, you have come to the right place.
From the classic
Haunted houses to baby spirits and a brush of light-hearted comedy, here are
the Tamil horror flicks that have scared a lot of us. Watch them at your own
risk.
Diya:
Starring Sai Pallavi,
Naga Shaurya, and baby Veronica Arora in the lead roles, Diya is an emotional
horror thriller. It is a film that gives out a strong social message about
anti-abortion as it stands for the rights of every soul, to live in this world.
The core premise of the film is innovative and the director Vijay manages to
drive the point home while the actors are the perfect cherry on the top.
This Tamannah Bhatia
movie is a horror comedy that will leave you in splits, all the while screaming
out of fear. Directed by Rohin Venkatesan, the movie is a laughing riot all the
way and has an unusual storyline, just like the title suggests (It’s not your
usual horror story). The story is about a house that is haunted by spirits,
sounds ordinary? Yes. But the movie’s story is THE king.
This horror-comedy thriller is a sequel that carries the spirit and
essence of the first movie, Devi. Starring Tamannah Bhatia and Prabhu Deva in
the lead roles, Director A.L Vijay’s Devi-2 is a unique story among the spate
of horror comedies these days. With a lot of entertaining humor and hilariously
scary scenes, there is never a dull moment throughout the film.
Directed by Milka S Selvakumar, Sandimuni is a horror-comedy movie
featuring Natarajan Subramaniam and Manisha Yadav. The story revolves around
Sandi, who loses his doting wife to an accident, but fate seems to have other
plans in store for him, as he stumbles upon a woman. What is it about the woman
that changes his life?
Rahul Paramahamsa directorial Jithan-2 is the second installment in the Jithan
franchise. Jithan Ramesh plays the naïve and introvert Surya, a man who
experiences paranormal activities in his new home and his happiness turns into
nightmares. The mystery behind the eerie presence forms the crux of the story.
