India will host South Africa in a thrilling multi-format cricket series from November 14 to December 19, 2025. The series includes two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is. As World Test Champions, South Africa challenges India's stronghold on home soil in this series. The Indian team aims to maintain its winning momentum after a 2-0 series win over the West Indies earlier this year.
The Freedom Trophy series begins at Eden Gardens in Kolkata
from November 14 to 18 and moves to Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati from
November 22 to 26. There is no doubt that this will be a tough challenge for
South Africa, but it will be a contest that fans around the world are eagerly
anticipating.
The ODI matches begin on November 30 at JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi, followed by matches on December 3 at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, and December 6 at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. These three-match ODI series offer both sides a perfect opportunity to fine-tune their white-ball squads.
With five T20Is starting December 9 at Barabati Stadium in
Cuttack, the series will conclude. Matches will also be played at Mullanpur's
Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Dharamsala's Himachal
Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Lucknow's Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari
Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, and Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. In
preparation for the 2026 T20 World Cup, this is India's final home series of
the year.
India’s Test squad is led by captain Shubman Gill and
includes Rishabh Pant as vice-captain and wicketkeeper. The talented group
features Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv
Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Nitish
Kumar Reddy, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Akash Deep.
South Africa, captain Temba Bavuma leads a strong team with
Corbin Bosch, Dewald Brevis, Tony de Zorzi, Zubayr Hamza, Simon Harmer, Marco
Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, Wiaan Mulder, Senuran Muthusamy, Kagiso
Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and Kyle Verreynne on the team.
