The Telugu General Entertainment Channel; Maa TV, from Star India has announced its refresh with a new brand positioning, brand tagline, channel theme track, and logo. The GEC network has added “star” to their channel’s name renaming it as “Star Maa”. Way back in February 2015, Star India had reportedly signed a deal to acquire the Maa Television Network plus its broadcast business.
This acquisition was anticipated to give the Star India an access to Telugu TV market; the second most popular & largest regional market in India. A market where the Star India Network had a limited presence, till then.
During a past event, Chiranjeevi; the Cinema actor unveiled the brand tagline and new logo. The logo’s identity is coloured red with an intrinsically bold “Maa” written. The red color symbolizes optimism, celebration, prosperity, passion, holiness, and purity. This logo reflects two powerful brands & promises a very strong collaboration.
The now Star Maa Live, Telugu TV Channels launched a variety of shows including MEK; Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu hosted by Chiranjeevi. The other non-fiction comedy program is Desamudurlu which adds to the four recently launched primetime fiction programs; Lakshmi Kalyanam, Koyilamma, Malleswari and kumkuma Puvvu; the highly ranked Telugu show nationally.
New Telugu Movies is also aired every weekend for the fiction lovers.Like the previous time world TV Premiere of the mega movie Baahubali, it is speculated that this year also the channel will premiere the second installment of the movie Baahubali 2 which is slated for biggest release on this April 17 with the highest number of screens all over the world.
