The film stars Jiiva as “Vasu”, Sri Divya as “Swetha” and Soori as “Sooranam” in the most important roles.Vasu is a real-estate broker in partnership with Sooranam. After moving in and out of several rented houses his dream is to one day own a house for himself and his family. His dream finally comes true and he buys a mansion. Upon moving in with his wife, daughter and uncle, he is met with disappointment as he finds another family, the Jambus, living there. They claim the property is theirs as it was handed down to them by previous family owners.

Vasu and his family decide to stay until the situation can be sorted out, but in the meantime he and Sooranam employ devious tactics to try and scare away the Jambus. The only problem is, they haven’t yet realized that they have moved into a haunted mansion. The situation now escalates into not only a conflict with the Jambus, but a battle with a ghost, who is also claiming right of occupancy.

Who will win this property war? Will Vasu and Sooranam be able to get out the Jambus? Will they be able to exorcise this house and rid the mansion of spiritual upheaval? Which owner, physical or spiritual, will be left standing? There are more laughs than horror in Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae. Director Ike seems to have taken a lot of effort in making this a ‘family story’, rather than concentrate on the ghost angle.
